Stain removal 101: how to make coffee spills disappear

Updated: Mar 23, 2021

We've all been in a situation where we made a mess that was difficult to clean up. The first thing we do is hopelessly scour the Internet while the stain dries up and becomes permanent. But we at Simplify have many techniques to make it seem like the stain never existed . . .

Technique #1: Club Soda and Salt

Sprinkle salt over the stain and then soak it in club soda. Let the solution sit overnight and wash the area in the morning. Avoid using this method for greasy stains.

Technique #2: Vinegar and Dish Soap

Mix vinegar and dish soap in the desired container. Pour it over the affected area and rub it with a wet cloth. Mop it up with another cloth or a paper napkin.

Technique #3: Lemon Juice and Salt

For sweat stains, sprinkle salt and squeeze the lemon on the stain. After it soaks, rub the area thoroughly until the stain disappears.
